Before Covid-19 we had our “Standard terms and conditions” in place, after Covid-19 we had to add “Transitional terms and conditions”.

We have set transitional terms and condition in order to build a pathway to sustainable new standard terms and conditions over the coming years, therefore on the IELS World website you will find the following types of terms and conditions and Covid-19 policies:

How to use it?
Transitional terms and conditions will prevail over the standard terms and conditions for a certain period of time and whenever you cannot find regulations on the transitional terms and conditions our standard T&C plus our covid-19 policies will be your final source of information.

This process will allow us to pass from this period of time to a new one in a sustainable way without affecting or comprise our future endeavours in a bad way.

DEPOSIT PAYMENTS:

Deposits are required within 3 days of making the reservation.

CREDIT CARD PAYMENTS:

IELS World (as part of Leadership ACT) accepts Visa, Mastercard & American Express. We take payments online or over the phone. For online payments, we will email you a link that you can click on to pay via our secure online system. If you would like to pay by phone then you can call us on 00 353 1 254 23 24. Our office hours are 09:00 to 17:00 Monday to Friday and we are on GMT time. Alternatively, let us know a contact number & a convenient time to contact you and we will phone you. Credit Card Booking Fees are included in the course price. All credit card transactions are handled securely via PayPal or Stripe.

FINAL PAYMENTS:

Full payment must be made no later than 60 days prior to your arrival at your destination. IELS World (as part of Leadership ACT) accepts payment by Visa, Mastercard & American Express or Electronic Bank Transfer. If final payment is not received as scheduled, your reservation will be automatically cancelled and your deposit payment forfeited.

DOCUMENTATION:

All documents relating to our courses will be sent via e-mail.

CHANGE / REVISION FEES:

There are no fees for name changes. If you require a room or accommodation type change from Host Family to Residential or vice versa, there are no administration fees but you would have to pay the difference if the new type of accommodation is more expensive.

Changing to a different course date is possible 30 or more days before your course start date, and if the new course has availability. There are no administration fees but you would have to pay the difference if the new dates are more expensive. It is not possible to change the dates of your course within 30 days of the start date.

CANCELLATION BY YOU (THIS APPLY ONLY FOR IN-PERSON COURSES):

2021 IN-PERSON COURSES– PARTICIPANT CANCELLATION CHARGES

For our 2021 In-person courses, we have made our cancellation policy more flexible. You can now cancel your 2021 in-person course up to 30 days before your course start date, as per the below. Once a partial or full payment has been made, cancellations will only be accepted in writing (by email at admin@leadershipACT.com) to IELS World (as part of Leadership ACT). Cancellation terms will be applied based on the date that the written cancellation is received and based on the following dates prior to in-person course commencement. Cancellation fees apply as indicated below. All cancellation fees include the initial deposit.

CANCELLATION BY US:

We hope this section helps to clarify any questions that you may have about under what circumstances we would cancel a course.

WE WOULD CANCEL COURSES IF:

Our suppliers are unable to provide their services
The Local Government, where a course is based, advises us stopping running in-person courses and other essential services
All flights in and out of a particular country are disrupted or cancelled

WE WOULD NOT CANCEL COURSES IF:

One or some suppliers are closed, but the course can run unaffected
Some flights are cancelled but can easily be rescheduled
Foreign governments recommend against their citizens travelling*

* Please note that although we do not cancel courses based on advice from foreign governments, you can still cancel your booking up to 30 days before your course start date and either transfer the full amount to a future booking or, when possible, get a refund of all monies paid less 75 Euros Admin Fee plus the 4% card or bank charge fees. Please see our terms and conditions section “Cancellation by You”.

IF WE CANCEL YOUR COURSE

If we have to cancel a specific course, then all participants who are booked on that specific course at the date of cancellation would get the option of, when possible, having a refund of the monies paid less 75 Eu Admin Fee plus 4% card charges, or have the full amount transferred to a future booking for any course, either later in 2021 or in 2022. Participants who have already cancelled in advance or transferred to a different course would not receive this refund. IELS World (as part of Leadership ACT) would not be liable for any other items or costs incurred such as Airfares, etc.

REFUNDS:

Refunds are processed to the credit card(s) or bank account(s) originally used for payment.

TRAVEL INSURANCE:

IELS World (As part of Leadership ACT) does not sell Travel Insurance. We would recommend a few options. IELS World (As part of Leadership ACT) requires that all learners have travel insurance.

COURSE PARTICIPATION:

To ensure an enjoyable course experience for all participants, Leadership ACT reserves the right to refuse any learner whose conduct is incompatible with the interest of the course group. Leadership ACT reserves the right to refuse admittance or continuation on the course and/or in-person course if, in our opinion, a learner is intoxicated or ill or present Covid-19 symptoms. We also reserve the right to remove from the course any learner that is disruptive, disrespectful or destructive to course staff, venue representatives, other course guests or property. In such a case, no refund will be made to the learner, and no liability or cost incurred by IELS World (as part of Leadership ACT) for transportation or other expenses incurred by that learner.

PARTICIPANTS WITH SPECIAL NEEDS:

Learners who have special needs or require unique attention must advise IELS World (As part of Leadership ACT) at the time of booking. Learners who require particular assistance must travel with a qualified travel companion as IELS World (As part of Leadership ACT) TM’s (Supervisor-Manager, one person) cannot provide individualised assistance. Our standard coaches are not equipped with wheelchair ramps. All learners must be able to mount 4 steps into the coach.

Please note that access for learners with disabilities is restricted/limited at some venues. Please contact us for more details.

COACH TRANSPORTATION:

When course participation is limited to the maximum of participants as stated in the course descriptions. I.e. For courses of 20+ learners, IELS World (As part of Leadership ACT) typically uses a 35-seater coach. When passenger numbers are lower than this, a smaller but equally luxurious coach may be used.

TEACHER-COACH (ONE PERSON):

When our courses are conducted by a professional teacher-coach (one person). The teacher-coach (one person) is both the teacher and the coach.

ACCOMMODATION:

Accommodation arrangements are provided as described in each course program. IELS World (As part of Leadership ACT) reserves the right to substitute a pre-arranged accommodation with an accommodation of similar standard.

MEALS:

Meals are provided as specified in each course program. Participants who have special dietary requirements must advise IELS World (As part of Leadership ACT) at the time of booking.

VISITS/ATTRACTIONS AND OTHER COURSE FEATURES:

IELS World (As part of Leadership ACT) reserves the right to substitute visits/attractions and other features when establishments are closed or cannot be visited for reasons beyond our control.

On certain dates including, but not limited to religious holidays and national celebrations, some monuments and sites may be closed. On these occasions, touring itineraries may be amended to reflect these closures. Occasionally, during holidays and certain periods, and/or due to unforeseen circumstances including weather conditions there may be last-minute changes, sometimes after arrival at the designated destination, affecting the sequence of the course and locations visited. In such cases, there will be no cost adjustment.

National monuments and tourist sites regularly undergo renovations, which can obscure the monument’s view. No excursions will be cancelled due to renovations and, in such cases, there will be no cost adjustment. However, IELS World (As part of Leadership ACT) will decide based on the conditions whether to amend an itinerary.

LUGGAGE:

Luggage, Hand baggage and personal items such as coats, cell phones, umbrellas and cameras are entirely in the care of the participants. Luggage might be carried at the owner’s risk throughout the programme unless insured.

CHILDREN:

Children ages 2 yrs – 7 yrs must share a room with a least 1 parent/guardian. Our courses do not cater for children 2 yrs or younger. You must be 16 or over to join one of our adult courses.

SMOKING POLICY:

Smoking is strictly prohibited at school. Smoking Rooms are available in some residence but the request for such a room must be made at the time of booking and a smoking room cannot be guaranteed.

NOT INCLUDED:

All items of a personal nature (services, extra-food, telephone charges, laundry, doctor, etc.) and meals not specified on the course program are not included and must be paid for by the participant.

CLAIMS OR DISPUTES:

Should participants have a complaint in respect of their course, they should inform the IELS World representative or IELS World (As part of Leadership ACT) office during the course. If the matter cannot be resolved after IELS World (As part of Leadership ACT)’s best efforts to do so during the course, the participant’s complaint should be submitted to IELS World (Leadership ACT) in writing no later than 28 days after the end of the course. Please note that if you attempt to address a situation on your own without using IELS World (As part of Leadership ACT) procedure, you assume responsibility for any added costs you may incur and forfeit any potential refunds.

LAW:

The participation contract with IELS World (As part of Leadership ACT) is subject exclusively to Irish Law and the jurisdiction of the Irish courts.

RESPONSIBILITY:

The participant is responsible for all travel arrangements and costs to/from the point of commencement/conclusion of the course. It is the full responsibility of the participant to check the accuracy of the dates booked upon receipt of their travel documents. It is the responsibility of the participant to ensure they have a valid passport and all visas if required. IELS World (As part of Leadership ACT) is not responsible for any personal injury, property damage or other loss a learner incurs on any course arising from acts or omissions by any air carrier, public transport company, service suppliers, accommodation supplier, any rental company, subcontractor or other person or organisation, whether or not such company is rendering any services supplied on the course. Without limitation, IELS World (As part of Leadership ACT) is not liable for any direct, indirect, consequential, or incidental damage, injury, death, loss, accident, delay, inconvenience or irregularity of any kind which may be occasioned by reason of any act or omission beyond its control, including, without limitation any willful or negligent act, failure to act, breach of contract or violation of local law or regulation of any third party such as an airline, train, accommodation, bus, taxi, van, local ground handler or guide, financial default or insolvency of any supplier and/or service suppliers which is, to, or does supply any goods or services for this programme. IELS World (As part of Leadership ACT) is not liable for any loss, injury, death or inconvenience due to delay or changes in schedule, overbooking of accommodation, default of any third party, attacks by animals, sickness, the lack of appropriate medical care, evacuation to same, if necessary, weather, strikes, acts of God or government, acts of terrorism, or the threat thereof, force majeure, war, quarantine, epidemics, or the threat thereof, criminal activity, or any other cause beyond its control. IELS World (As part of Leadership ACT) reserves the right at its sole discretion to alter the programme as it may deem necessary or advisable. IELS World (As part of Leadership ACT) reserves the right at its sole discretion to decline to accept or retain any learner on any of its courses if it deems accepting or retaining any such person as being detrimental to the programme. In the event any learner is removed from a course, IELS World (As part of Leadership ACT)’s only obligation is to refund to that person that portion of the payment allocable to SOME unused services (TBA). Any disclaimer of liability by IELS World (As part of Leadership ACT) under this clause is enforceable to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law. Each of the provisions of this clause is severable and if any such provision is held by any court or other competent authority to be illegal, void or unenforceable in whole or in part, the legality, validity and enforceability of the remaining provisions of this clause shall not be affected or impaired. Changes in the RESPONSIBILITY CLAUSE can be made only in writing signed by a director of Leadership ACT.

IMPORTANT:

My IELS World (As part of Leadership ACT) accepts no responsibility for losses or expenses due to delay or changes in schedules, flight cancellations or misconnections due to mechanical problems, sickness, quarantine, weather, acts of God, strikes, government actions, war, terrorism or other circumstances beyond its control. Participants must bear all such losses or expenses. To guard against unforeseen circumstances, we insist you travel with comprehensive travel insurance which must be purchased at home before departure.

Should you miss the arranged pick-up of your course, for any reason, IELS World (As part of Leadership ACT) will gladly arrange a transfer for you. This will allow you to catch up with your IELS world representative guide and fellow course takers. Please note, this transfer will have to be paid, in full, by you. There are no refunds or exchanges available for any sections of the course that you may have missed out on due to having not made the arranged pick-up.

PRICES:

Rates on the IELS World (As part of Leadership ACT) website are on a per person, sharing twin room basis. All prices are shown in Euro or GBP. Once you have booked then your price will not change, even if tax rates change or exchange rates change. All payments are required in Euro or GBP.
