IELS World will reopen In Ireland and UK for face to face classes in March and April 2021. This is subject to current governments guidelines and requirements or to any changes in guidelines which may occur.
We will temporarily be suspending our evening courses until further notice. Please check our excellent daytime online courses and also our website and social media daily for all updates.
You will receive a pre-arrival pack prior to your first day containing all necessary information. Our school reception personnel will guide you clearly and safely through the necessary first day steps required. Full school layout and staff I.D. information will be provided. Students will be helped to complete the required health forms and information protocol to complete. A full Covid School Policy can be found at “IELS World COVID-19 Reopening Policy” and please refer to this document before your course commences.
We will initially make it mandatory for students to wear a face covering when in class or on the school premises in general. However, we have the advantage of magnificent outdoors where students can remove the face covering while maintaining the required social distance. We therefore recommend that students equip themselves with face coverings before travelling. Further advice from the WHO on how to use face coverings can be found here: Masks and COVID-19

- Limiting the number of fellow students and staff to specific rooms and timetabling which is known as a bubble. If there is a case of coronavirus fewer students will come into contact with the individual by using this approach.
- Staggering the class start times and break times so as to minimise contact in bathrooms, entranceways, corridors and reception.
- Providing sanitisation stations in all areas so students can regularly clean their hands. Anti-bacterial wipes will also be made available to students to wipe desks and chairs before use. Our facilities have ventilation in every room and are cleaned regularly.
- Adhering to social distancing measures within the classroom in line with the guidance of the Irish government. This is currently 1 meter.
- Limiting the access to shared areas such as IT suites, canteen, student lounge, terrace and other social areas.
All IELS World staff, homestay providers and market partners will be required to abide by current return to work protocols at all times.
- stay at least 2 metres away from others;
